The city of Tomball has rescinded its boil water notice as of a Feb. 20 statement from the city. Due to a lack of safe drinking water, the city was required by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality to issue a boil water notice Feb. 15, asking water users to boil water before drinking or consuming for the time being.
According to the Feb. 20 statement, the city has taken "the necessary corrective actions to restore the quality of the water;" laboratory tests indicate water no longer needs to be boiled prior to use.
