Construction for the first phase of a Harris County Flood Control District project to improve drainage along FM 2920 west of Hwy. 249 in Tomball began in January, according to the HCFCD. The two-phase project—designated as M124—seeks to reduce flooding west of Hwy. 249 and south of FM 2920 through the construction of stormwater detention basins along a drainage channel extending to Willow Creek, according to HCFCD information. Construction for this phase is expected to wrap up in November this year.
