There are a number of ways to enjoy fall in Tomball and Magnolia, whether checking out a family-friendly festival, going trunk-or-treating or getting out into nature to enjoy the weather. Oct. 1-Nov. 19: Check out scarecrows

Oil Ranch will host its Scarecrow Festival and Pumpkin Patch, featuring 56 acres of pumpkins and 85 life-size scarecrows. Oct. 1: Stroll through the Renaissance

This year’s Stroll Thru The Renaissance will include two costume contests for kids and adults, and someone chosen by the citizens of Magnolia will be knighted by the festival king. Oct. 8-30: Enjoy hayrides

Every weekend in October, Weinberg’s Rosehill Farms will have hayrides, face hole cutouts for photo opportunities and a pumpkin patch. Pumpkins will be for sale at an additional cost. Oct. 8-Nov. 27: Visit Ren Fest

Oct. 15: Attend an Oktoberfest celebration

Dine on pretzels and bratwurst and try stein hoisting at Paradigm Brewing Co.’s Oktoberfest event. There will also be live music from The Homebrewed Brass Ensemble, face painting and dancing. Oct. 22: Participate in a fun run

Both kids and adults can participate in Mosaics of Mercy’s Fun Run and Festival. The 1-mile kids run is open to ages 1-13, while a 5K run is open to ages 12 and older. Speakers will follow. There will also be food trunks, vendors, a bounce house, face painting and music.
