Sept. 10-11: Remember Sept. 11

To remember the events of Sept. 11, the city of Tomball is holding two events this weekend. On the night of Sept. 10, the police, fire and emergency medical services departments will march from the corner of Market and Walnut streets to the Tomball Historic Depot Plaza, where two spotlights will be lit up through the weekend to symbolize the twin towers. On Sept. 11, city officials and first responders will hold a procession to The Depot, where Mayor Lori Klein Quinn will speak and flags will be lowered. Sept. 10: Watch an outdoor movie

September's 2nd Saturday at The Depot will feature the movie “Ratatouille.” Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs, blankets and snacks. This month’s event will be at the Tomball Community Center. Free. 8-9:30 p.m. 221 Market St., Tomball. 281-290-1035. www.tomballtx.gov

Sept. 10: Attend a hummingbird festival



Locals will be able to see hummingbirds in peak migration while enjoying games, activities and educational programs at the 14th annual Kleb Woods Hummingbird Festival. Guided nature walks will also be available, and attendees will be able to tour the 1896 Kleb House and watch blacksmith demonstrations throughout the day. Bird presentations will also take place throughout the day. Parking and shuttle service is available from New Kentucky Park, 21710 FM 2920, Hockley, and the north end Kleb Woods parking lot, 20605 FM 2920 Hockley.
