Challengers Caleb Small and Geoff Beyer won the election for Magnolia City Council Positions 1 and 3, respectively, while incumbent Buck Perino was reelected to Position 2, according to unofficial voting results from Montgomery County.

In the Position 1 race, Small garnered 75%, or 153 votes, while incumbent Daniel Miller received 25%, or 50 votes, according to election results. In the race for Position 2, Perino received 69% of the vote, or 145 votes, while challenger Todd Kana received 31% of the vote, or 65 votes.

For Position 3, Beyer received 143 votes, or 68%, while incumbent Richard Carby received 67 votes, or 32%.

In a statement sent to Community Impact, Perino said he was honored and humbled to be reelected.


"Thank you to every voter, volunteer, and supporter who believed in our vision for a stronger, safer, and united community," Perino said. "This victory belongs to all of us. I’m excited to continue the work we’ve started—protecting our values, guiding smart growth, and ensuring Magnolia remains a place we’re proud to call home."

Diving in deeper

According to unofficial voting results, in the race for Position 1, Small has 106 votes, while incumbent Daniel Miller has 27 votes. In the race for Position 2, Perino has 100 votes while challenger Todd Kana trails with 40 votes.

Beyer is leading in the race for Position 3 with 98 votes, while incumbent Richard Carby trails with 41 votes, according to unofficial voting results.
