Why did you decide to run for this election?
This is an important time for the city with all the growth and the search for a city administrator. We have to return city hall to an atmosphere where employees are comfortable again so that highly qualified individuals don't use retirement as a reason to exit an uncomfortable work environment.
What experience do you have that would help you with this role?
I have 19 years experience as a mayor and a councilman. I have been involved in multiple tax lowering budgets, as well as the search and hiring of three city administrators.
What is your top priority if elected?
Continue to focus on lowering property taxes while also expanding and upgrading the infrastructure. We have to get ahead of the development so that the developers are not inconvenienced by a building moratorium.
What is the biggest challenge facing Magnolia and what would you do to address it?
Water supply and wastewater treatment. The city should remain proactive in the expansion of these services.
How do you plan to address the growth in Magnolia?
The city does not have the ability to just say no to development, so we must continue the expansion of our services. While doing so we cannot lose sight of the fact we owe our current customers the services they deserve. Such as improvement of our current infrastructure, parks, recreation….
