The deadline for candidate filing for the May 7 general election closed Feb. 18, and the Tomball mayor and council Position 3 races are contested, according to candidate filing information from the city.

The city of Tomball has not had a contested mayoral race since 2010, the city's election register shows, and overall, no races have been contested since 2014.

Two candidates are running for mayor, and three are running for City Council Position 3. Early voting is from April 25-29 and May 2-3 at City Hall, located at 401 Market St., Tomball. The general election is May 7 at City Hall.
