Concordia Lutheran High School named Charles T. “Chuck” Evans as its interim head of school for the 2023-24 school year following the retirement of former Head of School Joel Bode, the school announced.

How we got here

According to the school's announcement, Bode announced his retirement in November to be effective at the end of fiscal year 2022-23. He served for 22 years as Concordia's head of school.

Evans has worked more than 25 years in educational leadership, including as a former full-time head of school and a strategic consultant for Christian schools, according to the announcement. His time at Concordia will be his 10th interim head of school assignment among Texas, Illinois, South Carolina and Virginia.

He is also the former executive director of the Texas Private Schools Association.

Evans will lead Concordia Lutheran High School as the interim head of school for the entirety of the 2023-24 school year while the board of directors conducts a national search for the permanent head of school for the 2024-25 school year, Director of Advancement Jonathan Schleicher said in an email.
  • Parents, guardians, and students can meet Evans at two welcome sessions Aug. 2 from 8-8:45 a.m. and 5:30-6 p.m. in the Commons.
