Tomball ISD was given an A rating, scoring 95 out of 100 possible points, with all but four campuses receiving an overall A rating. This is the first rating issued since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
The district received an A rating during the 2018-19 school year, the first year the A-F rating system was rolled out.
In addition to an overall A rating for 2021-22, TISD received an A rating in each of three domains: student achievement—which includes State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness performance; college, career and military readiness; and graduation rate—school progress, which looks at academic growth and relative performance; and closing learning gaps.
“Tomball ISD has a history of being named a straight-A school district, but earning this distinction this year means so much more,” Superintendent Martha Salazar-Zamora said in an Aug. 12 release from the district. “I’m incredibly proud of the hard work our students, teachers and staff put forth especially during a challenging time in education. We are also grateful to have a strong, cohesive school board that plays an integral role in our success, supporting learning and growing in all areas. Being rated a straight-A district is a very big deal, and our community deserves to be celebrated for investing in the high-quality education we have here in Tomball ISD.”
