Tomball ISD will offer free meals for all students each school day for the upcoming 2021-22 academic year, the district announced in a release July 28. Instead of applying for the Free and Reduced-price Meal program, the district is asking families to complete a household income survey form to receive free meals. The district requires this to ensure educational funding continues, the release said.

"[The] Tomball ISD Child Nutrition Department is extremely fortunate to have the opportunity to provide nutritious meals for each child and play an active role in their daily nutrition," the release said.

The district will continue to offer a la carte food options for purchase, the release said.

TISD students will be required to use their student ID/badge for every transaction in the cafeteria. This allows the district's system to track activity and parents to view items purchased, according to the release.
