I have received multiple questions from readers in Tomball ISD this month wondering when and if their neighborhoods might be rezoned to a new elementary or junior high campus. Remember this: Nothing is final until the TISD board of trustees votes on the TISD District Zone Committee’s recommendations at a board meeting Dec. 10.

As I attended committee meetings in October, committee members and district officials emphasized how much of an emotional process moving families to a different school can be. Some students at Wildwood Elementary, Lakewood Elementary, Rosehill Elementary and Willow Wood Junior High schools will be relocated to reduce overcrowding and populate the new campuses. Recommended rezoning maps for the elementary and junior high campuses as well as more information on the District Zone Committee's process can be found on the TISD website.

To better understand the rezoning efforts, I encourage you to attend the public forum Nov. 14 at TISD’s Staff Development Center, located at 1302 Keefer Road, Tomball.
