Incumbents Kelly McDonald, Sonja Ebel and Gary Blizzard all received more than 70% of the votes for Magnolia ISD board of trustees positions 1, 2 and 3, respectively, according to Montgomery County election results.

McDonald had 1,407 votes with 100% of election day precincts reporting May 4, while candidate Angie Smith had 474 votes. Ebel won her seat with 1,426 votes, and Blizzard won with 1,352 votes, while their opposing candidates—Adrian Kaiser and Sean Ricker—had 465 votes and 532 votes, respectively.

Ebel said there are many issues to focus on in the next term; however, growth and childhood literacy are her two priorities.

"The school district is just going to continue to grow, and we'll continue to focus on how to meet the needs of our teachers, staff and students the same way we always have," Ebel said. "Magnolia is a special place, and I'd like to keep it that way."

All three incumbents—Kelly McDonald, Sonja Ebel and Gary Blizzard—hold the advantage in the races for Magnolia ISD board of trustees positions 1, 2 and 3, early voting totals show.

McDonald holds almost 79% of early and absentee votes for Position 1—totaling 989 votes—against Angie Smith, who has 263 votes, according to Montgomery County election results.

Ebel leads the way for Position 2 with 1,012 votes, while opposing candidate Adrian Kaiser has 248 votes, election results show. Blizzard—who also serves as the board president—has 961 votes while Sean Ricker has 295 votes.
