The Tomball ISD board of trustees will vote March 5 on accepting the resignation of long-time trustee Sam Gregson. Gregson's resignation was effective Feb. 20, 2019, according to meeting documents. "Mr. Gregson is leaving our community soon and going into his new home in Chappell Hill," Superintendent Martha Salazar-Zamora said during a March 4 TISD board of trustees workshop. "He will be very much missed." Gregson was first elected to the TISD board in November 2001, according to the district's website. "I think I'd be remiss if I didn't comment on Sam Gregson," board vice president Michael Pratt said during the board comments portion of the March 4 workshop. "[He is] a very quiet, principled individual, humble [and] conservative yet progressive. ... He certainly set a standard to which we now have an obligation to meet, and exceeding that will be a challenge." The board will consider adopting procedures for appointing a new board member to fill Gregson's vacancy during its meeting March 5. The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. at 310 S. Cherry St., Tomball. "I think we could all say good things about Sam because he was an excellent board member, and he will be missed," board president Mark Lewandowski said March 4.
