Tomball ISD's $275 million bond referendum–approved by Tomball ISD voters Nov. 7—includes funds for new schools, buses, technology, campus facilities and other district improvements. The most costly projects include constructing a new junior high school to relieve overcrowding at Willow Wood Junior High School, building a new districtwide football stadium and expanding Tomball Memorial High School.

TISD brought the $275 million referendum to voters to address anticipated enrollment growth on the south side of the district from 2018 to 2022. Seventy-four percent of voters approved the district's referendum.

According to a letter from the district, cost estimates include:

  • Construction of a $68.4 million junior high school in southern TISD

  • Construction of a $51.3 million districtwide football stadium

  • A $48.3 million expansion of Tomball Memorial High School

  • Construction of a $31 million elementary school in southern TISD

  • Development of existing properties, totaling $22.7 million

  • Construction of a $15 million natatorium at Tomball Memorial High School

  • Instructional technology, totaling $13.6 million

  • A $7.1 million agriculture project barn at Tomball High School

  • Land acquisition totaling $5 million

  • New turf on baseball and softball fields totaling $4.4 million

  • Storage and transportation needs totaling $3 million for fine arts equipment

  • New school buses totaling $2.5 million

  • A $1.5 million redesign of the front of Tomball Intermediate School

  • $1.2 million in auditorium renovations at Tomball High School
