The Tomball ISD board of trustees unanimously voted Tuesday to call a bond referendum for the Nov. 7 election. No discussion followed regarding the referendum. However, TISD Director of Communications Staci Stanfield said the amount of the referendum and details regarding proposed projects will be released by the district at a later date. Although specific details have not yet been released, trustees heard recommendations for the referendum during a July 12 workshop meeting. According to the July 12 presentation, proposed bond projects include a new junior high school, a new elementary school campus, a new agricultural barn in southern TISD, additional buses and classroom technology along with renovations and facility expansions. Trustees also voted to adopt the district's budget for fiscal year 2017-18 during Tuesday's meeting. The balanced budget, which maintains a property tax rate of $1.34 per $100 home valuation, totals $128.5 million and includes a 3 percent raise for all district employees.
