After three years as Tomball ISD’s superintendent, Huey Kinchen announced in November he will step down in March.

Kinchen has 38 years of experience in education, 17 of which were spent in TISD, said Staci Stanfield, director of communications for TISD. Prior to succeeding John Neubauer in 2013, Kinchen worked in Spring and Humble ISDs, and served as a deputy superintendent and assistant superintendent of administrative services at TISD. He also served as principal of Tomball High School. During Kinchen’s tenure, the district opened four new schools.

A search for a new superintendent is already underway, and a finalist is expected to be announced later this year, Stanfield said.
