Oxland Group unveiled plans for its 1,800-acre master-planned community Two Step Farm in an Aug. 23 news release, which will include homes, a goat farm and music venues, among other amenities.

Land for the community was acquired in July by Oxland Group north of FM 1488 and west of Fish Creek Thoroughfare in Montgomery County, Community Impact previously reported.

Oxland Group has named the community Two Step Farm, with its core principles being music, farming and nature. According to the release, the developer’s focus is preserving nature and promoting farming, including conserving trees, using goats for plant removal and restoring indigenous plants.

The details

Phase 1 of the development will include the construction of The Homestead, according to the release. It will be a community space that emulates a rural town atmosphere featuring music venues, a goat farm and natural areas.

The Homestead will include:
  • The General Store, offering food, beverages and a visitor center
  • The Goat Farm, a working farmstead housing goats
  • The Dance Hall, a space for community engagement
  • The Model Home Village showing housing options
  • Two Step Greenbelt, a nature trail for outdoor activities
  • Pool house, a community pool
Phase 1 also will include 1,100 homes with eight lot size options ranging from 35-80 feet wide and single-family homes for lease.

Future plans include townhomes and an active-adult community, according to the release.

One more thing

The development plans to bring amenities as well, such as:
  • The Great Hall, an event center
  • An amphitheater
  • A splash pad
  • Mixed-use retail space
  • Repurposing a golf course that exists on the property
What they’re saying

“Our team has created communities all across the country, and we’ve seen the power of music to bring people together,” Oxland Group co-President Tom Woliver said in the release. “That, and the natural beauty of the land, drove our vision to express the true Texas spirit at Two Step.”

The timeline

According to the release, Oxland Group finalized the land deal with Regent Properties in July 2023 and the groundbreaking for Phase 1 is planned for 2024 alongside starting construction of Two Step Boulevard, a 1.5-mile-long roadway connecting the community to Fish Creek Thoroughfare.

The opening of model homes is slated for early 2025 and a grand opening of the community by late 2025.
