ROC Homes held a groundbreaking ceremony May 18 for Winfrey Estates, a 55-plus residential community located at Winfrey Lane and FM 2978 in Tomball.

“Everyone has been pouring everything we can to get to this point,” said Lloyd Pullappallil, the director of sales and marketing for ROC Homes, during the groundbreaking ceremony. “One of the reasons why we wanted to be here in Tomball [is] because there was a huge need for this product here.”

The community will have 113 homesites with lot reservations now underway, said Mike Podulka, a new-home consultant for ROC Homes, in an interview following the ceremony.

Podulka said ROC Homes will begin pouring the slabs for the community’s model and first three homes within the next two weeks with the first homes expected to be move-in ready by the end of the summer or early fall.

“So typically our build time is going to be about 100 days,” Podulka said. “And we’re going to start four every month, so we’ll have plenty [of homes] coming right around the corner.”

Winfrey Estates will also have an amenities center featuring pickleball and bocce ball courts, a swimming pool, and more, Podulka said.
