As construction continues along Hwy. 249, Lone Star College-Tomball and Harris County Toll Road Authority crews are working to improve mobility in the Tomball area and realign the southern LSC-Tomball entrance.

The south entrance to LSC-Tomball—near the LSC-Tomball Community Library—closes permanently on Saturday, Dec. 16 as classes wrap up for the fall semester. According to LSC-Tomball, the Zion Road entrance will remain open.

Karen McKinnon, program construction manager for Harris County Toll Road Authority, said the new southern entrance across from Baker Road is slated to open Jan. 5, 2018, ahead of the spring semester.

The realigned entrance is expected to improve traffic flow in and out of the LSC-Tomball campus.

"[LSC-Tomball is] actually constructing that themselves, but we've been working closely with them to make sure the tie-in points work out correctly with the [Hwy. 249] frontage road and make sure we meet that date so their two entrances are back open before school starts again," McKinnon said.
