Magnolia-based nonprofit Society of Samaritans will team up with area organizations to host the inaugural SOS & Friends Care Fest on Saturday, offering free resources and activities to better the community, according to event information. The festival is held Oct. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the West Montgomery County Community Development Center—located at 31355 Friendship Drive, Magnolia—and admission is free. Attendees can visit a job fair with various employers onsite to discuss career opportunities.
Health screenings, a bounce house, food, raffle drawings, hair cuts, educational resources about affordable health and child care, housing and family services are also available. The event also includes a blood drive.
