Here is a list of things to know for residents in Tomball and Magnolia this week, March 12-16.

1. Tomball City Council appointed Assistant City Manager Rob Hauck as the new city manager on Friday. Hauck will replace current City Manager George Shackelford, who will retire April 2.

2. The city of Magnolia hosts a workshop meeting Tuesday, March 13, to discuss its wastewater treatment plant and master plans for water and wastewater systems. Residents can attend to learn more about the wastewater plans at 6 p.m. Following the workshop, the council meets for its monthly meeting that begins at 7 p.m. Council members are expected to vote to amend its fee schedule for new water and wastewater rates as well as set an implementation timeline for adjusted rates. 4. Tomball and Magnolia ISDs are closed for spring break this week. Students return to school on Monday, March 19.
