Tomball City Council approved an annual agreement with the Tomball Farmers Market during its Feb. 7 meeting. Other than the addition of three sunset markets, no changes were made to the agreement, meaning the farmers market will run every Saturday from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. in Old Town Tomball throughout 2022.

Two of the sunset markets will be held on Wednesday nights from 4-7 p.m. in March and December to make up for markets lost due to the Tomball German Fest and Tomball German Christmas Market, according to the agenda packet. The farmers market first held a sunset market last December, Community Impact Newspaper previously reported.

“The evening market that we had was a success,” City Manager David Esquivel said at the meeting. “It definitely is a great thing.”

The third sunset market will be held in conjunction with National Night Out, a community event held the first Tuesday of October promoting the relationship between law enforcement and citizens, Esquivel said. The October sunset market will also run from 4-7 p.m., the agenda packet said.

The agenda packet did not include dates for the two evening markets running in March and December.
