A draft plan by the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County addressing long-term public transportation needs includes plans for a park and ride near Boudreaux Road and Hwy. 249 in Tomball, according to METRO information. METRO released a draft of the first phase of its 2040 public transportation plan, METRONext, in late 2018.

In addition to the Boudreaux Road park and ride, METRONext proposes park and rides along Hwy. 249 in the Louetta Road and Willowbrook areas located to the south of Tomball. These park and ride stations would allow commuters to park their vehicles and carpool or travel on bus routes.

According to METRO officials, the transportation authority could call for a $3.5 billion bond referendum election in November to fund the proposed

METRONext improvements. However, a bond has not yet been formally called. METRO began collecting public feedback on the METRONext plan in January.
