Several road closures and public meetings are scheduled for the first week of June in Tomball and Magnolia. Here are five things to know to start your week.
1. Northbound and southbound lanes of FM 1486 at FM 1774 in Magnolia will be closed daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, June 5, to Friday, June 9, according to the Texas Department of Transportation. The closure is dependent on weather, and alternate lanes are available.
2. The westbound lane of FM 1774 from FM 1486 to Industrial Boulevard will be closed daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, June 5, to Friday, June 9, according to TxDOT. The closure is dependent on weather.
3. Tomball City Council hosts public meetings Monday evening, beginning at 4 p.m. The city council will conduct a
workshop session at 4 p.m. regarding the city's financial forecast for fiscal years 2018-22. A
community meeting hosted by the city council and Tomball Community Development Department will follow as part of a regular council
meeting at 6 p.m. to gather community input on needs resulting from the 2016 flood events.
4. Magnolia City Council's meeting location has been changed to the Magnolia Community Center, located at 422 Melton St., Magnolia, for the council's regular meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 6. The council will hold two public hearings regarding annexation of 56.96 acres near FMs 1774 and 1486.
