Magnolia Mayor Todd Kana released a statement Nov. 12 announcing his plan to run for re-election in May. "I have been asked recently if I will seek re-election, so I have spent some time discussing this with family, friends, citizens and local businesses," Kana said. "With a competent staff and dedicated City Council, we have accomplished many great things since I was elected mayor. Eliminating the more than $600,000 deficit I inherited is one that I am quite proud of. Nothing would make me happier than for you to allow me to continue to serve as mayor of our great city." Kana was first elected to City Council in May 2005 and was re-elected in May 2007. In May 2010, he was elected to serve as mayor. He was re-elected in May 2012 and May 2014.
