About the owners
Taylor Krinkie said he’d been buying and selling games and collectibles for over five years at his home until the couple decided to take a leap of faith and try it out in a storefront.
“It worked. There wasn't anything like it in Tomball anymore, so the community really responded well to it,” Taylor Krinkie said.
Kayla Krinkie said the retro video games and consoles bring back memories for their customers. The co-owner said parents and grandparents will bring their kids and grandkids to show them what they used to play games on.
“It's funny to hear the kids be like, ‘Wait you used this kind of cartridge? It's huge,’” Kayla Krinkie said.
What they offer
Quicksave Games and Collectibles sells items including PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo products, as well as trading card games. Taylor Krinkie said the oldest console they have in-store is the Nintendo Entertainment System from around 1985.
“Anything that's a retro game, we have it,” Taylor Krinkie said.
The store also provides repairs on different systems and hosts events, including a Pokemon paint party and a trading day for kids. The owners said they have tables available for anybody to play or host any type of card game.
What happens next?
Taylor Krinkie said the couple plans to stay in Tomball when they eventually move to their larger location.
“We just need more room for more traffic because it gets crazy here on the weekends and our events are getting bigger and we need more seating,” Taylor Krinkie said.
