Sharon Markland, director of the Magnolia Exotic Bird Sanctuary, is opening All About Birds, a new store with 100% of net proceeds supporting the bird sanctuary's efforts.

All About Birds will sell toys, food, cages, perches and bowls for parrots and include Mr. P.'s Gift Shop and Resale Shop, named after the sanctuary's mascot, a 27-year-old Goffin cockatoo. Items available in the resale shop have been donated to support the sanctuary.

Founded in 2004 by Markland and established as a nonprofit organization in 2014, the MEBS is a lifelong sanctuary for abandoned, neglected, abused and relinquished parrots, according to previous reporting. MEBS cares for over 150 exotic parrots and has seen an increase in demand to care for more birds alongside funding challenges, according to the organization.
