Crossbar Academy opened in 2019. The academy is designed for third through 12th grades and focuses on faith, family, soccer and academics, according to its website.
“The original goal was to help CrossBar so that kids can go there,” Langer said. “The second thing that I didn’t realize was being a part of the community and how much we can actually help people who may have hit hard times.”
Yes! Resale began with donations of items from the community. Langer said with the help of other resale shops and word of mouth, Yes! Resale received donations to turn around and sell to help students at CrossBar Academy. Langer said some resale stores will run out of space and donate to the Tomball store, too.
Langer said his wife came up with the name for Yes! Resale but then found the Bible verse Isaiah 58:7 that says to give clothes to those in need and the Lord will answer “yes.” Langer said he put the scripture on the wall behind the register at the store.The profits are given to CrossBar Academy, according to Langer, to fund tuition for underprivileged children who are otherwise unable to afford the school. When a child is given a scholarship, funds from Yes! Resale make up the difference.
“Our most recent student got a 75% scholarship; we make up that difference,” Langer said. “The funds that Yes! Resale sends over goes towards sponsoring those students.”
Yes! Resale accepts donations five days a week—except for Sundays and Wednesdays—and will take most items except for mattresses and broken electronics, according to Langer. Items in the store may include movies, books, clothes, furniture and other household items. The business also has a company truck that can be used to pickup items from individuals who may have trouble moving items out of their house.
