In the nearly two years since Kid’s Anthem opened, the children’s boutique has become a meeting place for families, owner Sharon Wilson said.

Wilson and her husband, Jason, opened Kid’s Anthem on Tomball’s Main Street in May 2016, expanding the then-4-year-old business from inside another Tomball storefront to its own space.

“It means a lot for me to be able to be a place where families can come together,” Wilson said. “Lots of families will meet here and their kids will play here, and they didn’t know each other [before Kid’s Anthem]. I like to be a part of the community and to give back. That means a lot to me that I’m part of the community that I live in.”

Kid’s Anthem stocks girls clothing from newborn up to size 16 and boys clothing from newborn up to size 5, Wilson said.

“We cover the sweet and traditional [styles], yet we also cater to the younger moms,” Wilson said.

However, the business’s inventory continually changes, she said.

“Any activities that your kids have going on, we can clothe [them],” she said. “We get new shipments every single day. If you haven’t been in a week, come back.”

Customers can find shoes, educational toys and gift items as well, and Kid’s Anthem hosts events and story times throughout the year, including holiday photos and a monthly book reading, Wilson said.

A mother who was also a teacher, Wilson said she opened Kid’s Anthem to provide parents a place to buy clothing lines popular in New York City and Los Angeles as well as to help children find a clothing style.

“There was nowhere for me to take my daughter to try [these designer clothes] on, see how they fit or touch them. I wanted to bring that into our town. Just because it’s Tomball doesn’t mean we can’t have some style,” she said. “[We] kind of help moms help their kids find their style, too. That’s why we named it ‘Kid’s Anthem.’ You each have your own anthem that you can kind of march to.”
