The nutcracker Tomball and Magnolia host various holiday festivities this weekend, Dec. 2-4.[/caption]

There are a variety of holiday celebrations happening this weekend for Tomball and Magnolia residents to enjoy.

However, the Magnolia Christmas Parade and Hometown Christmas celebration has been rescheduled for Saturday, Dec. 10. The festivities will begin at 10 a.m. in Unity Park next Saturday.

Friday, Dec. 2
Official Tree Lighting
The family-friendly city of Magnolia's tree lighting event includes caroling by Magnolia ISD students with hot chocolate and cookies served by area Boy Scouts. Mistletoe Market
The Cedric C. Smith Elementary Parent Teacher Organization hosts a holiday Mistletoe Market featuring breakfast and pictures with Santa, crafts, a silent auction and more than 20 vendors. 9 a.m.-noon (breakfast and pictures with Santa, silent auction), 9 a.m.-2 p.m. (vendor shopping). $4 (breakfast, Santa pictures and crafts), free (admission). Comic book store grand opening
Christine Prohl will open Dragon's Lair at 21151 Hwy. 249, Ste. A, Houston. The store operates as a full-service comic book and game store, carrying everything from comic books, graphic novels and manga to tabletop games, including Settlers of Catan, Pandemic and Ticket to Ride. The store also features a large kids section and hosts many organized play events and family game nights. 'The Nutcracker'
Houston Repertoire Ballet, Houston's premier preprofessional ballet company, celebrates its 21st season, beginning with its 15th annual performance series of "The Nutcracker," featuring professional guest artists Elizabeth Keller, HRB alumna, as the Sugar Plum Fairy, Justin Hughes as the Cavalier, Andrew Taft as the Snow King, and Joe Modlin as Herr Drosselmeyer. Downtown Holiday Lamp Post Stroll
Old Tomball is filled with holiday cheer as more than 50 downtown merchants and organizations decorate the city's ornamental lamp posts for the Christmas season.
