With all 67 precincts reporting, James Metts won the runoff for the Republican candidacy for Montgomery County Precinct 4 Commissioner. Metts received 2,449 votes, or 51.82 percent, against incumbent Jim Clark, who garnered 2,277 votes, or 48.18 percent. Metts does not have a Democratic opponent in November's election and will be the next Precinct 4 commissioner in Montgomery County. He is a lifelong East Montgomery County resident and has served four terms as Precinct 4 Justice of the Peace. Clark has served as Precinct 4 commissioner since 2015. Metts could not be reached for comment on election night. All results are unofficial until canvassed.
