Several road projects are underway in the Woodlands area, including a number of projects from the Montgomery County road bond approved by voters in May. This list is not comprehensive.

1. Research Forest Drive at Gosling Road intersection improvements
- Project: The project will extend existing turn lanes to create more vehicle storage and improve mobility and safety for turn lanes and through lanes.
- Update: Engineering design has begun on the project.
- Cost: $25,500 (design)

2. Grogans Mill Road at Research Forest Drive right-turn improvements design
- Project: The project will extend a right-turn lane or add a second right-turn lane from northbound Grogans Mill Road onto eastbound Research Forest Drive.
- Update: The project has started engineering design.
- Cost: $50,000 (design)
- Timeline: June-fall
- Funding source: Montgomery County road bond
- Project: The project will extend and widen the left-turn lane from eastbound Research Forest Drive to northbound Greenbridge Drive.
- Update: Engineering design has begun on the project.

4. Lake Woodlands Drive at Gosling Road intersection improvements
- Project: The project will extend turn lanes to improve mobility and safety from eastbound Lake Woodlands Drive onto northbound Gosling Road and from westbound Lake Woodlands Drive onto southbound Gosling Road.
- Update: Engineering design has begun on the project.
- Cost: $40,000 (design)
- Timeline: June-late summer

5. Lake Woodlands Drive at East Panther Creek Drive turn-lane extension
- Project: The project will extend the left-turn lane from westbound Lake Woodlands Drive onto southbound East Panther Creek Drive.
- Update: Engineering design work has begun on the project.
- Cost: $22,500 (design)
- Timeline: June-late summer

6. David Memorial Drive extension
- Project: A project to extend David Memorial Drive to Hwy. 242 began in September 2023 under the terms of an interlocal agreement between the city of Shenandoah and Montgomery County.
- Update: The first phase of work is completed to the Conroe city limits, Bleyl said. Originally slated to be paid for by Conroe, the final portion of the project will now be funded by the Montgomery County road bond approved by voters May 3. The estimate needed to complete construction is $2.5 million, engineer John Bleyl said.
- Timeline: September 2023-March (Phase 1), TBD (Phase 2)
- Cost: $7.8 million
- Funding sources: city of Shenandoah, Montgomery County
7. Hwy. 242 widening
Project: TxDOT is using existing right of way on Hwy. 242 between FM 1488 and I-45 to widen lanes and restripe the intersections.
- Update: As of the most recent information released by TxDOT in July, the project was 60% complete.
- Timeline: Oct. 23, 2023-fourth quarter 2026
- Cost: $29.11 million
