With a forecasted 65% probability of an above-average hurricane season, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Climate Prediction Center’s 2022 Atlantic Hurricane Season, the Montgomery County Food Bank has received truckloads of emergency water donations from local partnerships with H-E-B, Kroger and Walmart.

According to a news release, the Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Office is housing the donation to keep storage space available at the food bank.

The release states in the event of a disaster requiring immediate food and water relief, the MCFB will work closely with MCOHSEM and provide assistance throughout Montgomery County.

"At Montgomery County Food Bank, our mission is to unite the community to fight hunger,” MCFB President and CEO Kristine Marlow said in the release. “This is a perfect example of our mission in action. With the generous support of our retail and community partners, we can ensure that those in need receive assistance now and when disaster strikes. I am incredibly grateful for the loyal support of our community.”
