Here are four things to know this week if you live in The Woodlands area.

1. Tomball ISD selected the lone finalist for its open superintendent position Thursday. Chief Academic Officer Martha Salazar-Zamora will begin training for her new role over the next month before TISD Superintendent Huey Kinchen retires. Salazar-Zamora has worked in TISD since 2014.

2. Chobani Cafe will open its first location outside New York City late this month just outside The Woodlands. The new cafe, which will offer Mediterranean-centric dishes, will be housed inside a new Wal-Mart store at 25800 Kuykendahl Road, Tomball. The store is located on the border of the Village of Creekside Park and Augusta Pines. For more details about the new Wal-Mart, visit www.walmartthewoodlands.com.

3. Oak Ridge North City Council will swear in Paul Bond during a meeting Monday night. Bond is taking the place of former Council Member Tom Coale, who officially resigned in January. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the city’s municipal building.

4. The issue of appointing a Woodlands Township elected official or staff member to the board of The Woodlands Road Utility District No. 1 will be discussed again during a board of directors meeting Thursday. The WRUD was formed in the 1990s to construct major thoroughfares and connector streets in The Woodlands. Former township Director Mike Bass has served on the board since 2015. At this time, the township board can defer consideration indefinitely or until a later date, take no action, or appoint a township elected official or staff member to the WRUD. The meeting begins at 6 p.m.
