A new independent bookseller, Village Books, is expected to open in The Woodlands this year. The bookstore will be located in a 1,075-square-foot space at the Marcel Crossing shopping center at 8000 McBeth Way, Ste. 180, according to KM Realty. Village Books will also contain a gift shop and maintain a schedule of community programming such as children's storytimes, author visits and writing groups. “The strength of the independent bookstore is that it’s never just a store. It is a community gathering space. To that end, Village Books will cement this as a tenet and maintain an active calendar of events," founder Teresa Kenney said in a statement. According to KM Realty, the bookstore will open in the spring.
