Interfaith of the Woodlands' Hand Me Up Shop celebrated the launch of its new retail location in Spring on Nov. 8.

According to Interfaith, the Hand Me Up Shop has served as a thrift store for south Montgomery County for 30 years. The shop's new location at 536 Sawdust Road features 22,000 square feet of retail space and is more than four times the size of its previous store location at 25018 Spring Ridge Drive, Spring.

In addition to the Hand Me Up Shop's previous offerings ranging from jewelry and clothing to toys and home decor, the Sawdust store will feature new furniture and boutique sections, according to Interfaith. The store's proceeds go toward Interfaith's programs and services around The Woodlands area.

“The Hand Me Up Shop not only funds our community programs, it most importantly provides vital services and meets basic needs for neighbors in crisis,” Interfaith President and CEO Missy Herndon said in a statement. “The shop clothes our neighbors in need. Children get first day of school outfits, individuals get professional attire for job interviews and families who lose personal belongings in a fire or disaster are able to replenish their closets, thanks to the generosity of our community donors. Every donated piece of clothing, housewares or furniture item will make an impact on someone in need.”

Clothing and houseware donations to the Hand Me Up Shop can be made at the retail store or at Interfaith's central office at 4242 Interfaith Way, The Woodlands. Furniture and consignment donation pickups can be scheduled by calling 281-367-4942. www.woodlandsinterfaith.org/programs-services/hand-me-up-shop
