Residents of The Woodlands have likely heard the term “master-planned community” hundreds of times, as it the core concept of the area.

Unlike neighborhoods a master-planned community features more than the basic neighborhood park. It includes trails, nature centers, golf courses, retail and other amenities that contribute to the oft-heard live, work and play appeal of the area.

In our Real Estate Edition this month we take a look at where some of the growth is happening regarding new homes in the Greater Houston region, and it should come as no surprise that master-planned communities among the areas with the most new home starts in the area.

Master-planned communities, such as Bridgeland, Harmony and The Woodlands Hills, are expected to add hundreds of homes in the next few years as confidence returns to the construction sector.
