What is the MCHD?
The Montgomery County Hospital District is a political subdivision of the State of Texas. MCHD was established through special legislation in 1977 to provide healthcare to the indigent residents of Montgomery County. It also operates the county’s ambulance service, manages the public health district and offers a variety of community and professional education programs.
How are MCHD Board of Directors elected and what is their role?
The MCHD board of directors is made up of seven elected members. Three are at-large and the remaining four are elected from different commissioner’s precincts where they must be a resident. Each member serves a four-year term. Members assist the people of Montgomery County in their emergency medical, preparedness and healthcare needs.
When does the MCHD board of directors meet?
MCHD board meetings are held the fourth Tuesday of each month at 4 p.m. in the MCHD Board Room, located at 1400 S. Loop 336 W., Conroe, and are open to the public.
