Montgomery County to reinstall monument plaque at Spring Creek Nature Center

Montgomery County Precinct 3 Commissioner Ritch Wheeler announced the reinstallation of a plaque honoring former commissioner Ed Chance and other officials on the Spring Creek Nature Center on Feb. 25.

During Commissioners Court on Feb. 25, Wheeler unveiled the original plaque, which was kept by the county's Building Maintenance department after it was taken down under the administration of a former commissioner.

The Spring Creek Nature Center was constructed at 1300 Riley Fuzzel Road, Spring, under the administration of former Precinct 3 Commissioner Ed Chance, offering a facility within the Spring Creek Greenway that could be used by the public.

In their words

"It's customary anytime that in any municipality or county or whatever, when a particular elected official builds something for the community in their particular jurisdiction, you put up what's called a monument plaque, and the monument plaque just basically lists who all was involved in that project," Wheeler said. "We will be putting that back on the nature center where it should be."
