In a Dec. 4 news release, The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership announced Jevon Gibb as its new CEO following the pending retirement of longtime CEO Gil Staley.

The details

The Woodlands Area EDP was founded in 1997 and is responsible for recruiting and supporting commercial business development and relocations in The Woodlands area. In early August, Gil Staley announced he would be retiring from the CEO position on Feb. 1, 2025, and a nationwide search led to the selection of Jevon Gibb to take on the role, according to the release.

"With a career that spans diverse sectors, including government, economic development, and law, Jevon’s broad expertise and innovative approach will play a pivotal role in achieving EDP’s mission to foster economic growth, support job creation, and enhance the quality of life for residents and businesses in The Woodlands Area," EDP officials said in the release.

Gibb's previous roles include:
  • Senior consultant at Trailhead Strategies
  • Director of Regional Economic Development for Salt Lake County, Utah
  • Director of Research and Economic Development at MetroHartford Alliance
  • Officer, Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps
The Woodlands Area EDP's Chief Operating Officer Holly Gruy also announced her departure from the EDP on Dec. 2, effective Dec. 31.
