Over the last five years, the populations within The Woodlands and the city of Shenandoah have increased, according to the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2022 American Community Survey 5-Year Estimates released Dec. 7.

In a nutshell

The population within The Woodlands boundaries grew from 109,608 to 118,402 from 2017 to 2022, according to the American Community Survey 5-Year Estimates. Shenandoah grew by 748 and Oak Ridge North saw a decrease of 76, according to new data.

While the median age within The Woodlands increased from 39.7 to 40.7, it increased by nearly 10 years within Shenandoah, and it decreased in Oak Ridge North, according to the American Community Survey 5-Year Estimates. Among the 0-19 age range in Shenandoah in 2022, there were no residents between the ages of 15 and 19, according to the survey.
