Shenandoah City Council unanimously adopted a resolution supporting an at-grade solution for the intersection of Research Forest Drive and Grogans Mill Road during a March 9 meeting.
Council Member Michael McLeod said it was time to have the resolution in the city’s official record that there is opposition to an elevated connection at the intersection.
“If we want to restate that, now is a good time,” Mayor Ritch Wheeler said.
Montgomery County Precinct 2 Commissioner Charlie Riley spoke at the Feb. 23 council meeting to present changes to the intersection, including redesigning the right-turn lane from Research Forest onto Grogans Mill and extending the acceleration lane from Grogans Mill onto Research Forest.
Community Impact Newspaper previously reported Nov. 16 that Montgomery County Precinct 3 Commissioner James Noack said there are no plans for an overpass or underpass at the intersection.
