Editor's note: The story has been edited to note Gordy Bunch was not unanimously approved for the chairman role. Contested positions were also added to the story.

The Woodlands Township board of directors selected its officers during a Nov. 17 meeting following the Nov. 2 election.

Chair Gordy Bunch was reappointed as the township’s chair after not receiving opposing nominations. Bunch was not unanimously approved for the position, as Director Ann Snyder confirmed in an email she did not cast a vote for Bunch.

Other officers selected were Director Bruce Rieser as the board’s vice chair, who was contested by Snyder; Director Shelly Sekula-Gibbs as the board’s secretary, who was also contested by Snyder; and Director John Brown as the treasurer.

The vice chair and secretary positions were the only contested positions presented during the meeting. Officers will serve in their positions for one year or until an officer's successor has been elected.

Directors were able to submit their nominations prior to the Nov. 17 meeting and voted by ballot for the officer positions.
