During a March 30 meeting, Precinct 1 Commissioner Robert Walker said increasing the price from $2 to $5 is meant to help cover maintenance costs for the park.
"We are just trying to increase our cash value coming in," Walker said.
Walker added the park has had a $2 admission since its inception, and with the approaching Easter holiday, he expects around 3,000 people at the park.
The commissioners approved the price change 4-0, with Precinct 3 Commissioner James Noack abstaining from the vote.
