Kayak, paddleboard and swan boat rentals for use along The Woodlands Waterway and Lake Woodlands are once again available at the Riva Row Boat House following the facility's reopening May 6.

Rentals will be available on a reservation-only basis, with hourly pricing set at $15 for single kayaks, $20 for tandem kayaks and paddleboards, and $25 for swan boats. The boathouse will be open between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. from Thursday to Tuesday, excluding the first day of operation.

Additional safety precautions for rentals through the boathouse are in place as part of The Woodlands Township's first phase of public space and amenity reopenings. Reservations are limited to four people across one swan boat, two tandem kayaks, or four single kayaks or paddleboards. Staff will also be unavailable to physically assist renters entering or exiting their water craft due to 6-foot social distancing requirements, and customer groups waiting for rentals will also be separated by at least 6 feet. Lockers will be available for renters' use, but dry bags will not be provided. While boathouse restrooms will be closed to the public, nearby restrooms at Town Green Park are open.

According to the township, all rented equipment is sanitized and disinfected after each use and at the end of each day, and frequently touched surfaces at the boathouse are sanitized throughout the day.

To make a reservation at the boathouse, call 281-210-3965. Rental payment is accepted by credit card only.

Additional amenities in The Woodlands that are available through the township's first reopening phase include Lake Woodlands and Lake Paloma, community gardens, public parks and park restrooms, and pathways and trails. Recreation areas including the township's archery range, bocce courts, BMX and skate areas, horseshoe pits, tennis courts, Terramont Park disc golf course, and running tracks are also open. Township dog parks remain closed.
