Regular readers of this paper may notice a change on this page. This issue marks my first as editor for Community Impact Newspaper’s The Woodlands edition. My predecessor, Marie Leonard, has been promoted to managing editor in our South Houston office.

As a Houston native, I am no stranger to the area. However, my first few weeks on the job have shown me The Woodlands area is unlike any other, with unique needs, residents and community issues.

This month has been a great one to dive into head-first. One of our cover stories this month breaks down the multifaceted subject of water in Montgomery County. Between the Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District, the San Jacinto River Authority and ongoing lawsuits, there is a lot for residents to know about why their water bills may be increasing.
