Events in The Woodlands area this weekend include an event benefiting The Woodlands Family YMCA as well as the opportunity to watch a triathlon. Road closures and detours will be in effect on the morning of April 27 due to the race.

The ninth annual YMCA Dancing for a Cause with The Woodlands Stars event presented by Chesmar Homes supports the The Woodlands Family YMCA. The event includes a buffet dinner, cash bar, live and silent auction, and photo booth. Individual and table seats are available. The ballroom is located on the second floor.Moonlight Paddle

The Riva Row Boat House is holding a moonlight paddle event with single kayaks decorated with lights to help illuminate the way. Participants can paddle out to Lake Woodlands and watch the moon rise over the water.Memorial Hermann Ironman Texas North American Championship


Community members are invited to support athletes as they take in their ​​Ironman journeys in The Woodlands with a 2.4-mile, spectator-lined lake swim, followed by a 112-mile bike ride that traverses The Woodlands before taking on two loops on closed portions of Hardy Toll Road, and capping off with a 26.2-mile run on the Ironman circuit.

The annual event celebrates the historical Tamina community. Attendees are invited to bring a picnic lunch, chairs and blankets, and a balloon release will take place at 12:30 p.m. Food trucks, free books and referral resources will be available.
