The Woodlands Township's eight newest pickleball courts opened with a dedication on July 22 at Falconwing Park.

The event was attended by several hundred residents, and the day included demonstrations and a ribbon-cutting ceremony, according to information from the township.

The courts represent a $650,000 investment, which is part of a $4.23 million renovation at the park, according to a news release from the township. Other improvements include parking lot expansion and LED light conversions.

The Woodlands now has 51 pickleball courts, including overlays on 19 tennis courts. Other locations for pickleball-lined courts are at Bear Branch Park. The new courts include nets and are dedicated pickleball locations.
