July 27 and Aug. 3: Watch a movie at the mall

Families can watch family-friendly films, such as “Cars” and “Shrek 2,” on the lawn of The Woodlands Mall. Guests can bring blankets and chairs and enjoy a free scoop of custard from Shake Shack. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis, and children may not be left unattended.


July 27 & Aug. 3: Watch a show on Lake Woodlands

The annual Rock the Row series from The Howard Hughes Corp. will provide multiple artists performing live music on Lake Woodlands with local and regional artists. Chairs, picnic baskets, coolers and blankets are allowed, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

July 29: Beat the heat with a margarita

The Woodlands sixth annual Margarita Festival is coming back to town this summer. Guests can taste a variety of frozen and on-the-rocks margaritas from local business owners and cocktail artists. Guests must be age 21 or older.July 29: Take a photo with a superhero

Aug. 1: Celebrate Houston Restaurant Weeks in The Woodlands

The annual fundraiser for the Houston Food Bank returns with a variety of participants. Participating restaurants make donations based on the speciality brunches, lunches and dinners they sell. The list of participants will be available online beginning July 15.Aug. 5: Celebrate back to school

The Shenandoah Civic Club will host a back-to-school bash for attendees to say goodbye to summer. Guests can participate in a number of pool activities and have ice cream and hot dogs with other refreshments.

Aug. 12: Learn about vegetable gardening

Attendees can learn about vegetable gardening and get tips and tricks from professionals for the late summer and fall planting season. Participants must register ahead of time for the event and will be sent a webinar link for the class.

Aug. 12: Take part in a duathlon

Texas Children’s Hospital The Woodlands presents a duathlon for children ages 7-14, featuring running and biking events. The competition is designed for all levels, and previous experience is not required. The event benefits the YMCA Annual Campaign.
