The Memorial Hermann Ironman Texas Americas Championship triathlon will be held in The Woodlands on April 22. The triathlon will contain a 2.4-mile swim, an 112-mile bike ride and a 26.2-mile run through The Woodlands and Spring.

As a result of the event, several roads in The Woodlands and Spring areas will be closed either all or part of the day April 22.

Closures
  • Waterway Avenue from Lake Robbins Drive to Timberloch Place: all day
  • Riva Row from Grogans Mill Road to Six Pines Drive: 6 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Lake Robbins Drive from Grogans Mill Road to Six Pines Drive: 5 a.m.-midnight
Several other major roadways will be impacted during the biking portion of the championship.

The bike route for the Ironman Americas Championship will impact traffic on the Hardy Toll Road.

  • Northgate Crossing to Hardy Toll Road: 6:45 a.m.-5:50 p.m.
  • I-45 to Springwoods Village Parkway: 6:35 a.m. -1:30 a.m.
  • Pruitt Road to I-45: 6:30 a.m.-6 p.m.
The Precinct 3 Recycling Center will also be closed April 22 to accommodate the traffic impact on Pruitt and Budde roads for the bike course, according to Montgomery County Precinct 3.
